The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Service’s Office of Agricultural Emergency Preparedness is partnering with the University of Tennessee’s Institute of Agriculture and College of Veterinary Medicine to bring Department of Homeland Security (DHS) certified agroterrorism courses to Florida.

All courses are free of charge thanks to a DHS grant through the University of Tennessee. Additional sponsoring partners include the University of Florida’s Institute for Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS-Extension), The Florida Department of Health, and Florida’s Regional Domestic Security Task Forces.

You must be a United States Citizen and be able to provide proof thereof in order to attend these courses.


The following course(s) will be offered in Florida in the month(s) of March, 2012:


PER 259: Sharing Information and Intelligence Related to Food Importation and Transportation

 

This is a 1 day course designed to prepare participants to utilize and implement effective sharing of information and intelligence to enhance food safety and security related to food importation and transportation. It is targeted towards Law Enforcement, state Fusion Center personnel, emergency managers and responders, Extension, public health, food and agriculture professionals, transportation industry, and federal, state, local, tribal and regional officials. This course carries 7.5 CEU’s.

  • Tuesday, March 13th, 2012, in Davie, FL: (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hour for lunch, in Unit #410, at the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus of Broward College, 3501 S.W. Davie Rd., Davie, Florida 33314)
